NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous says he wants to spend more time with his wife and children.

The man who has become the face of the NAACP -- from marches protesting the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin to vigils for death row inmate Troy Davis in Georgia -- is resigning effective Dec. 31.

In an interview with USA TODAY, Benjamin Todd Jealous said the constant travel as president and CEO of the nation's largest civil rights organization has kept him away too much from his wife, civil rights lawyer Lia Epperson, and children, daughter Morgan, 7, and Jack, 13 months. He said he plans to make a formal announcement to his staff Monday morning.Check it out here

Bishop Marvin Winans Bio

Marvin Winans Born:

March 5, 1958 as Marvin Lawrence Winans in Detroit, Michigan. He and his fraternal twin brother, Carvin (who was born first), were the third and fourth children born to David "Pop" Winans, Sr. and Delores "Mom" Winans.

Pastor Winans Quote:

"Respect is a great thing that's missing in music today. Respect for the music itself. Respect for artistry. It's changed in respect for the audience. You listen to rappers and the likes and they have no respect. They feel as if people have to buy their music and that they have to go to their concerts. If stuff's not right, they blame everyone but themselves."
From 2007 interview with Gospelflava.com

The Music:

Born to musical parents, Mom and Pop Winans, Marvin Winans was the fourth of ten children. As a part of what is called "the First Family of contemporary black gospel," he started singing at the age of 4. As Marvin got older, he sang with siblings Ronald, Carvin, and Michael in the early 1970s as The Testimonial Singers. In 1975, they changed their name to The Winans. Discovered by Andrae Crouch, The Winans were signed to Light Records and they released their first album in 1981.

The Ministry:

At the age of 12, Marvin Winans came to know Christ during a 150-day revival conducted by Mother Estella Boyd. A mere six years later, on December 18, 1976, he answered the call to ministry and preached his first sermon at Shalom Temple.
Mixing his gift of preaching with his music, for years he would preach in the hotel rooms that he and his brothers were staying in as they traveled for concerts. Eventually, he started a church in the basement of his home with seven people who committed themselves to follow him as he followed Jesus. Moving out of his basement was next and on May 27, 1989, Perfecting Church in Detroit, Michigan held its first official service.

Lord Jesus:George Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie Zimmerman, has had enough of selfish George, she is suing for divorce

Now why am I not surprised that George Zimmerman’s wife is leaving him just 2 months after he was acquitted for killing Trayvon MartinThe news articles are reporting that Shellie revealed:

“I have a selfish husband and I think George is all about George.”

She noted he only stayed in their house three or four nights since the trial ended and that they even tried counseling. But she moved out Aug. 13.
In an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America” that aired Friday, Zimmerman said her husband left her with “a bunch of pieces of broken glass” after the acquittal.
Shellie Zimmerman says her husband was verbally abusive toward her and that he has been making what she considers “reckless decisions.” She didn’t specify what those decisions were. “In my opinion, he feels more invincible” since his acquittal.
Earlier this month, Shellie Zimmerman pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor perjury charge for lying about the couple’s finances during a bail hearing following her husband’s arrest after Martin’s shooting in Sanford, Fla.
“I have supported him for so long and neglected myself for too long,” Shellie Zimmerman said. “And I feel like I’m finally starting to feel empowered again.”
Shellie Zimmerman said in the petition that her husband should pay the premiums on the policy since he “has the financial ability to obtain such life insurance at reasonable rates.” She also asked for custody of the couple’s 2-year-old Rottweiler, Oso, and 8-year-old Leroy, a mixed-breed dog. They have no children.
Shellie Zimmerman, 26, is seeking an equal distribution of their checking accounts, trusts, partnerships and any unknown assets, and asked that a judge prevent him from selling off any property. Among the unknown assets is any money George Zimmerman may get from a defamation lawsuit he has filed against NBC.
